About NZOUG
Connecting, Uplifting, and Empowering Aotearoa’s Digital Community
The New Zealand Oracle Users Group (NZOUG) is a registered nonprofit organisation dedicated to building digital capability, inclusion, and innovation across Aotearoa New Zealand.
While we support professionals working with Oracle technologies, our mission extends well beyond technical networking. We provide free and low-cost access to knowledge and community events for learners of all levels—from students and jobseekers to seasoned experts. NZOUG is powered entirely by volunteers who believe in the transformative power of technology when it’s accessible to all.
What We Do
-
Open Learning & Public Events - We run free and subsidised events, webinars, and workshops covering topics like cloud computing, data literacy, cybersecurity, and AI—open to the public, not just Oracle users.
-
Education & Youth Engagement - We collaborate with tertiary institutions across Aotearoa, offering students free access to events, and networking.
-
Digital Inclusion & Equity - Through initiatives like Te Ao Oracle, we embrace Te Reo Māori and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in tech spaces.
Why We Exist
We believe that technology should be an inclusive enabler—not a barrier. Our purpose is to unite, educate, and empower people in Aotearoa with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to succeed in a digital world. Whether you’re a seasoned Oracle professional, a student curious about data, or someone looking to transition into tech—we welcome you to our community.

History
The New Zealand Oracle Users Group was founded in 1989. In our early years, we were part of the Australia New Zealand Oracle User Group (ANZORA), in 1997, we decided to sever the ties with Australia and became a separate group.
This group is for all Oracle technology users and serves as a forum to share ideas and interests. We are always open to suggestions on how we can improve the NZOUG, so please email your ideas to a member of the committee.
Since the merger of Oracle, PeopleSoft, and JDE, we have joined forces with the NZ PeopleSoft and JDE users to create a large user group that assists all Oracle technology users in New Zealand to maximise their return on the investment they have made in Oracle and related technology vendors.
We look forward to working with all Oracle technology users in New Zealand to achieve this goal.
