Celebrating My Oracle ACE Associate Award: A Milestone in My Oracle Journey

I’m honoured to share some exciting news — I’ve been recognised as an Oracle ACE Associate! This achievement is a proud milestone in my journey with Oracle technologies and the wider Oracle community.

The Oracle ACE Program acknowledges individuals who are not only technically skilled but who also actively contribute to the global Oracle ecosystem. Whether it’s through speaking engagements, community leadership, blog writing, or helping others solve technical challenges, ACEs are advocates and ambassadors for Oracle technology — and I’m grateful to be counted among them.

My Oracle Journey

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of Oracle products and platforms. My hands-on experience includes:

  • Oracle WebCenter Content: Delivering enterprise content management solutions for streamlined document handling and collaboration.

  • Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS): Implementing secure identity and access management in the cloud.

  • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC): Building connected, agile systems that bridge the gap between on-premises and cloud applications.

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Database Patching: Maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments.

But technical knowledge alone isn’t what makes this recognition meaningful. It’s the ability to give back — whether it’s presenting at events, sharing learnings through blogs or meetups, mentoring others, or helping lead initiatives like the New Zealand Oracle Users Group (NZOUG).

The Power of Community

Community is at the heart of this award. I’ve always believed in the value of sharing knowledge — not just to teach, but to learn. Every conference talk, every blog post, and every local meetup has been an opportunity to grow with others who are just as passionate about technology.

Being part of NZOUG has amplified that. As president, I’ve seen firsthand how our community uplifts each other — from those just starting their Oracle careers to seasoned professionals exploring new frontiers like AI, APEX, multi-cloud, and Te Ao Māori in tech.

What’s Next?

This recognition energises me to keep going. I’m looking forward to:

  • Continuing to contribute content to the Oracle community, including practical blogs, tips, and tutorials.

  • Speaking at upcoming conferences and events, including our own NZOUG Conference.

  • Collaborating with fellow ACEs and community members on how we can build a more inclusive, innovative, and inspiring Oracle ecosystem.

Thank You

A big thank you to Oracle, the Oracle ACE Program, and especially the Oracle community — in New Zealand and around the world. Your support, inspiration, and shared knowledge make all the difference.

Let’s keep building, learning, and growing — together.
